Its a two hundred page book titled "Favorite Sher lock Holmes Mysteries." My Mom read them and said that they were good but with the old English writing and all, I don't k now if I'll be able to concentrate.

The Sherlock Holmes short stories are very exiting to read. I don´t know how tough the old English writing is to read though, since I read them the storie s in Danish. Anyway, best of luck! Please tell me if you liked the stories...
Ok, so I do know him, I've looked at Benedict Arnol d's Navy a couple of times for the same reasons you cite. Dave Palmer recently wrote a pretty good bio of Arnold, "George Washington and Benedict Arnold".
I've seen the Washington/Arnold book at Barnes & Noble and thumbed through it. Gotta read it and Stealing the General -- the new one on the Great Locomotive Chase. My bookcases are so loaded that I've stopped buying hardbacks. Plus, they cost so much, so nowadays I get it in hardback at the library and if I want to own it, wait til it comes out in paperback.

Finally finished the Jack Aubrey series (four years to read the 20 books in it). Now reading Bill Bryson's bio of Shakespeare. After that comes Ronald Davis's Duke: The Life and Image of John Wayne. The latter has been out for a while. Has anybody else read it?
